Administrative Set Up
ADMINISTRATIVE
STRUCTURE – Original Set up
Being one big people, Amacha was very technical in setting up the
administrative structure of the town when he established it; as such he
arrogated the services of two different Shrines [Ani and Nze] to the Ewolokpo
and Ndueze families to make them part of the social activities in the land
though as at this time of arrogation of services, Ogwezhi the father of the
Okwele people had not arrived. When Ogwezhi finally entered the town and took
the OATH of oneness, the spokesman of the community was given to him and descendants.
Hence till date anywhere and time the three quarters meet to deliberate or
celebrate, it is the Ugo from Okwele that speaks on behalf of the community.
The structure is like this
Okpala-uku – Amacha and descendants
Ugo-uku of Abbi – Ogwezhi and descendants
Oyiwa of Abbi – Ndueze and descendants
Nwa-diani of Abbi – Ewolokpo and descendants.
